I-SPARC (Indigeneous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council – BC)
I·SPARC is the provincial organization in British Columbia dedicated to supporting Indigenous sport, recreation, and physical activity opportunities for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities.
To advance Indigenous sport, physical activity, and recreation in British Columbia through community-led programming rooted in culture and wellness. Its focus is on empowering Indigenous youth and communities by using sport as a tool for health, identity, and connection.
I·SPARC is one of the most direct alignment examples with ICSN. Both operate with a strong community-first, culturally grounded approach to sport and recreation. Their Indigenous-led programming and focus on reconciliation through sport closely mirrors ICSN’s emphasis on community ownership, cultural safety, and equitable participation.
